Les Viner named Managing Partner of the Year

Torys’ former Managing Partner Les Viner has been awarded Managing Partner of the Year at the inaugural Canadian Law Awards.

The Canadian Law Awards honour leading law firms, in-house legal teams, individuals and landmark deals across Canada.

Les is widely recognized by his peers for his exceptional leadership. Les was Torys’ Managing Partner until March 31, 2020, a position he held for 22 years. Throughout his tenure as Managing Partner, Les led Torys through some extraordinary milestones, including: an expansion into New York, Calgary and Montréal; founding an innovative Legal Services Centre in Halifax; and diversifying our practice and service offerings well beyond our historic roots.

Les’ unwavering leadership and dedication to the firm and its employees has driven outstanding results for more than 20 years. His commitment to individual and overall firm excellence has been a goal throughout his tenure and the legacy he leaves of dedication to our values cannot be understated.
