Diversity, equity and inclusion programs have been widely adopted by Canadian businesses, and employers are under heightened scrutiny to ensure they are meeting their legal obligations and commitments. This three-part series will examine common pitfalls to avoid in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, and ways that employers can mitigate legal risks.
This third and final session will delve deeper into DEI related issues specific to race, and cover specific issues that arise in the context of workplace racial discrimination and harassment claims, including claims related to an employer’s DEI commitments and legal obligations; current trends in workplace discrimination and harassment class proceedings advanced by racialized employees; and practical guidance for Canadian businesses on mitigating litigation risk and investigating these claims.
This session will be presented in English.
