Join Torys' intellectual property lawyers for an informal discussion on all aspects of patent law. We’ll be analyzing the old, the new—and most definitely the absurd—in candid conversation, all while taking questions from the audience and welcoming special guests along the way.
Niki and Andy are back for 2025 with a fresh series of Patently Absurd. This year, to mark the end of first quarter of the 21st century, in each episode Niki and Andy will reflect on some of the most influential patent cases of the past 25 years, and with input from our loyal viewers, will rank the cases that still resonate the most in 2025.
In March’s episode, Niki and Andy will also discuss the upcoming case before the Supreme Court of Canada relating to the patentability of ‘methods of medical treatment', briefly reviewing the history of this topic in Canada and the issues we expect to see brought before Canada’s highest court.
Finally, they will be joined by Patently Absurd veteran Teresa Reguly—partner in Torys’ IP and Regulatory practice groups—who will talk about the latest guidance and precedent from the Patented Medicines Pricing Review Board.
This session will be presented in English.
