Senior counsel Brigitte Goulard, partners Julie Himo, Blair Keefe and Molly Reynolds, and senior associate Jessica Lumière will speak at CCUA’s National Conference for Canada’s Credit Unions taking place May 11-14 in Halifax, NS. The conference will highlight recent trends, tools and insights that are accelerating innovation and transformative change within the financial services industry.

Brigitte will speak on the breakout session “Responding to Increasing Regulatory Demands” on May 13 at 2:50 p.m. The session will examine recent regulatory developments in consumer protection, payments, and anti-money laundering, focusing on the implications for credit unions and addressing how to meet the growing demands of regulators.

Blair will speak on the panel “The Way Ahead - Extra-Provincial Growth Opportunities” on May 13 at 2:50 p.m. The panel will examine strategies for broadening credit unions across provincial boundaries. Topics include advantages and obstacles linked with federal continuance, banking subsidiaries, operations outside provincial borders, and federal-provincial combinations.

Julie, Molly and Jessica will deliver the “AI Tabletop Assessment” on May 13 at 4:00 p.m. This interactive session will aid participants in recognizing the legal frameworks to be evaluated when examining AI-driven tools, key stakeholder feedback, and the advantages and reputational risks they may pose.
