James maintains an active civil litigation practice that includes competition litigation, class actions, intellectual property, corporate/commercial disputes and public law. With experience across sectors, including automotive, manufacturing, communications, consumer goods and transportation, James brings nuanced industry perspective to help clients effectively navigate and resolve their disputes.
James has appeared as counsel in the Supreme Court of Canada, in the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the British Columbia Supreme Court and the Saskatchewan Court of Queen's Bench, as well as before the Competition Tribunal and the securities commissions of Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta.

James volunteers as an advocacy skills adviser for Ryerson University's Law Practice Program. He is also the co-author of a chapter of Litigating Competition Law in Canada (LexisNexis Canada, 2018).
