Mark’s practice focuses on corporate law with an emphasis on private equity and fund formation. Mark has experience representing fund sponsors on all aspects of the private market fund formation and capital raising process. Additionally, Mark’s experience extends to representing public pension plans and other institutional investors in connection with their investments in buy-out, venture capital and infrastructure funds and in co-investment transactions.
Mark has acted for a number of institutional investors in connection with their investments in private investment funds, including: BMO, CIBC, BDC, CPP Investments, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, Northleaf Capital Partners, HarbourVest Partners, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Vancity.
Mark has also advised several clients, including Axium Infrastructure, HarbourVest Partners, Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel Ltd., Montrusco Bolton Investments Inc., Third Eye Capital Management Inc. and Peloton Capital Management, in connection with the planning, forming, negotiating and fundraising of their private market funds, as well as internal governance.
