With deep experience in the sector, Jonathan provides strategic counsel across the spectrum of industry participants, including electricity generators (renewable, conventional, nuclear and alternative fuels), as well as electricity and gas transmitters and distributors.
He is regularly involved in matters before the Ontario Energy Board, including with respect to rates, licensing, leave to construct and expropriation proceedings. Jonathan also advises clients on energy-related project development, interconnection processes, regulatory and contractual matters, and on energy regulatory considerations in energy M&A and financings.

Jonathan began his career as in-house counsel at Ontario Power Generation, where his broad regulatory practice served all areas of the company, including its nuclear, thermal and hydroelectric business units.
Jonathan is a contributing author of sentencing digests for The Prosecution and Defence of Environmental Offences (S. Berger) and Litigator from WestlawNext Canada. He is also a member of the Natural Resources and Energy Section, as well as the Environment Section of the Ontario Bar Association.
