Denise’s practice focuses on food and drug regulatory and intellectual property law. She provides ongoing guidance to clients who sell regulated products (such as drugs, medical devices, natural health products, food and other consumer products). Her work involves advising on issues such as Food and Drugs Act compliance, product licensing, establishment licensing, packaging and labelling, provincial drug and health regulatory requirements and lobbying compliance.
Denise is involved in negotiating and drafting agreements in the food, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and regulated health profession industries, such as clinical study agreements, confidentiality agreements, product listing agreements, as well as other commercial agreements.
On the intellectual property side, Denise helps clients with drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications, in addition to advising on the acquisition and exploitation of intellectual property in related transactions, as well as intellectual property licensing and assignment. Denise has expertise in drafting and listing Form IVs on Canada’s Patent Register (Canada’s version of the U.S. Orange Book).

Denise currently sits on Cycling Canada’s volunteer High Performance Committee, as the Chair of the Committee.
Denise has volunteered with the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) program, a high school program that uses legal education as a tool to assist students to succeed in school and become engaged and active citizens.
During law school, Denise volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP), which provides free legal advice and representation to individuals otherwise unable to afford legal assistance.
