Darlington New Nuclear SMR Project
Torys is acting as counsel to Ontario Power Generation on all aspects of its project to develop Ontario’s first on-grid small modular reactor (“SMR”) technology at the site of its Darlington New Nuclear Project, part of a pan-Canadian national approach to facilitate the development of SMR nuclear projects in Canada.

The Torys team is being led by Krista Hill and includes Josh Van Deurzen, Tara Mackay, Adam Banack, Patrick Kanopoulos and James Flynn (corporate/projects), Charles Keizer and Jonathan Myers (energy regulatory), Michael Fortier, John Terry, Tyson Dyck and Emily Stewart (environmental and nuclear licensing), Edward Fan and Denise Ramsden (IP), Jerald Wortsman and Tamara Jewett (tax).
