Torys is pleased to share that the firm received five accolades at the 2024 Canadian Law Awards, a recognition that underscores our lawyers’ excellence and commitment to outstanding client service. 

Best Use of Technology in a Law Firm: Torys LLP

Torys’ Knowledge and Innovation team collaborated with the firm’s Competition Law practice group to create the first-ever advanced M&A geographic analysis product to help visualize different competitive market dynamics for particular regions in real time. The product has become an integral part of the firm’s legal argument toolkit and will continue to do so moving forward.

Lifetime Achievement in the Legal Profession—Private Practice: Sheila Block

Partner Sheila Block has been named the inaugural winner of the Lifetime Achievement in the Legal Profession—Private Practice award for her visionary strategies and innovative solutions to some of the profession’s most complex challenges. Torys also received acclaim in three deal categories:

• Insolvency & Restructuring Deal of the Year for our role as counsel to Bank of Montreal in its acquisition of Loyalty One's AIR MILES reward business.
• M&A Deal of the Year for our role as counsel to Rogers Communications in its $26 billion acquisition of Shaw Communications.
• Mid-Market Deal of the Year for our role as counsel to ivari in its C$375 million sale to Sagicor Financial Company Ltd.
