Christophe’s practice focuses on nascent legal issues in the financial services sector, including fintech and consumer-driven banking (open banking).
As a member of Torys’ Financial Services Regulatory Group, Christophe provides government relations advice to clients involved in significant public policy and transactional matters in the financial services and other sectors. Christophe brings deep, multifaceted perspective to this area of his practice, having served as a Senior Policy Advisor to the former Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland on matters related to financial policy. Christophe also advises clients on national security issues and other issues under the Investment Canada Act.
Additionally, Christophe advises clients on matters ranging from election finance rules, lobbying matters, conflict of interest rules and more. Christophe is fluent in French.
Christophe was a Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, for over two years. In this role, Christophe was the principal advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister on financial policy matters, including financial sector transactions requiring Ministerial approval.
